Jackson Browne’s classic albums Running On Empty and Late For The Sky are now available on 180-gram vinyl in their original packaging using the original package design, and with newly remastered audio!
“Running on Empty” is a song and the title track of the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, released in 1977. The song is a driving, up-tempo rock tune that features a prominent piano riff, lively percussion, and a catchy chorus that has become one of Browne’s most recognizable hits.
Featuring 10 live performances recorded in 1977 between August 17 and September 18 by Browne and his band: guitarist Danny Kortchmar; David Lindley on fiddle and lap steel guitar; keyboardist Craig Doerge; bassist Leland Sklar; drummer Russ Kunkel; and background vocalists Doug Haywood and Rosemary Butler. Together, they recorded these songs in natural settings, such as a Holiday Inn hotel room, a backstage rehearsal space, on a tour bus, and on stage.
